BY-LAW NUMBER 1705 A BY-LAW OF THE CORPORATION OF THE COUNTY OF ESSEX TO PROVIDE FOR VARYING THE TI~E FOR THE RETURN OF THE ASSES$IENT ROLL. WHEREAS the Assessment Act, R. S. O. 1960, Chapter 23, Section 56 provides for the taking of the annual assessment and the return of the Assessment Roll to the Clerk, AND %~EREAS Section 56 (2) allows a Council to vary by by-law the time for taking of the annual assessment and the returning of the Assessment Roll to the Clerk not earlier than the 1st day of July and not later than the 1st day of October in the same year, AND WHEREAS Section 65 (b) deems the County Council ~o be the Council of the local municipality for purposes of Section 56 (2), AND V~EREAS the Council is of the opinion that the Assessment Rolls can be completed by September 30, 1967 and wishes to vary the time for taking of the annual assessment and the returning of the Assessment Roll for a number of municipali- ties~in the County, NOW THEREFORE be it enacted and it is hereby enacted by the Council of the County of'Essex as follows: .. 1. The time of the taking of the annual assessment for the Corporation of the Town of Kingsville, Village of Belle River, Township Of Rochester, Township of Maidstone, Township of Tilbury North, Township of Mersea, and Township of Colchester North shall be tweeen the.lst day of' January and the 31st day of July, 1967 and the date for return of the Assessment Roll to the Clerk shall be not later than August l, 1967. 2. The time of the taking of the annual assessment for the Corporation of the Township of Gosfield South, Township of Gosfield North, Township of Colchester South, Town of Tecumseh,' Village of St. Clair Beach, Town of Leamington, and the Town of. Harrow shall be between the 1st day of January and the 31st day of August, 1967 and the date. for return of the Assessment Roll to the Clerk shall be not later than September l, 1967. 3. The time of the taking of the annual~assessment~ for the Corporation ef the Township of Tilbury West, Town of Essex, Township of Sandwich Sout~h, Township of Sandwich West, Town of Amherstburg, Township of Anderdon, and'the Township of Malden shall be between the 1st day of January and the 30th day of September, 1967 and the date for return of the Assessment Roll to the Clerk shall be not later than October l, 1967. 4. This by-law shall come into force upon the final passing thereof and approval of the Minister of Municipal Affairs as is provided for in Subsection 7 of Section 56 of The Assess- ment Act, Chapter 23, R.
