I <br />i <br />i <br />88 BY-LAWS or ras COUNTY or ]Koss:. <br />RV•LAW No. $!. <br />By.kw to Repeal By -Inm No. 169, and to appoint a Solicitor to the Cowxt Cowl. <br />ail of the County of Essex. dejlniny his duties. <br />i <br />WMREAS, It is deemed necessary and expedient to repeal by- j <br />law No. 169, and to appoint a Solicitor to the Council of the County <br />of Essex, defining his duties. <br />Be it therefore enacted by the Municipal Council of the County !i <br />of Essex, and it is hereby enacted as follows <br />That by -law No. 169 be and the same is hereby repealed. <br />That Joseph A. Ouellette be, and he is hereby appointed solici. <br />tor to the Council of the County of Essex. ' <br />That the said Joseph A, Ouellette shall be paid the sum of sev <br />enty -five dollars per annum for his service3 as said solicitor. <br />That the payment of the said sum of seventy -five dollars shall <br />be construed as a payment to the said solicitor in full of all retaining <br />fees in any' suit or suits in which the council of the said county may <br />be interested, as well as for all services performed by the said solici. <br />for during the sessions of said county council, and advising the A. <br />cials of the said county in any matter or matters connected with the <br />said county. <br />That all services performed by the said solicitor at the request <br />of any committee appointed by the said council or the warden of the <br />said county under the authority of the said county council, shall be <br />paid extra according to the nature of the services performed. <br />That the said sum of seventy -five dollars shall be paid quarterly <br />by warrants upon the Treasurer of the said county, who is heraby <br />authorized to pay the same. <br />That all other sums charged by the said solicitor for services <br />performed under section four of this by -law shall, after approval by <br />the said council, be paid by warrants upon the said Treasurer, who is <br />hereby authorized to pay the same. <br />Passed June 17th, 1881. <br />(6igned), THOS.
