<br />Whereas, by an act passed in the 42d year of Her Majesty's reign, intitoled
<br />the "Municipal Amendment Act of 1879," and chaptered 3t, it is enacted that
<br />appeals in respect to the equalization of assessments, shall, after the passaged
<br />the said act, be to the County judge jointly with the Sheriff and such thud
<br />person as the County Council may appoint ; id act that the appo intment d
<br />And whereas, it is further provided by the sa
<br />uncil in the year;
<br />such third person shall be made at the first meeting of the Co
<br />And whereas, the Council of the county of Essex has appointed William Mc-
<br />Gregor to act with the said judge and Sheriff on the said appeals, and it it W
<br />cessary to confirm the said appointment:
<br />, Be it therefore enacted by the Municipal Council of the corporation of the
<br />county of Essex, in Council assembled, that William McGregor, of the town of
<br />Windsor, in the said county, gentleman, be and he is hereby appointed to act
<br />with the County judge and the Sheriff of the said county on appeals in respect
<br />to the equalization of assessments.

<br />A By -Law to provide and levy the sum of one hundred dollars towards the County Medea School, in tls
<br />County of Essex. Passed June 23d, Mo.
<br />Whereas, it is necessary and expedient to provide and levy the sum of one
<br />hundred dollars towards the county Model School, in the county of Essex:
<br />Be it therefore enacted by the Council of the corporation of the county of
<br />Essex, in Council assembled, under and by virtue of chapter zoo of the Revised
<br />Statutes of Ontario, that the sum of one hundred dollars be paid towards the
<br />county Model School, in the county of Essex, fox the current year;
<br />And be it further enacted that the said sum be paid to the Secretary of the
<br />School Board, within whose jurisdiction such Model School is situated, and
<br />that the Warden is hereby authoried to sign warsants upon the Treasurer d
<br />the said county for the payment of the same.

<br />Whereas, it is necessary and expedient to provide and levy the sure of oat
<br />hundred dollars towards the Institutes of Teachers in the North and South
<br />Ridings of the county of Essex;
<br />Be it therefore enacted by the Council of the corporation of the county of
<br />Essex, under and by virtue of chapter zoo of the Revised Statutes of Ontario,
<br />that the sum of one hundred dollars be paid towards the Institues of Teachers
<br />in the North and South Ridings of the county of Essex for the current year is
<br />manner following, that is to say: Fifty dollars to the North Riding and the
<br />same sum to the South Riding ; aid to the Inspector And be it further enacted that the said sum be p of
<br />Schools, for the said Ridings, and the Warden is hereby authorized to sign rear.
