<br />Whereas, the Municipal Council of the Corporation of the Counter of Esser+ Cby y e,
<br />assembled, did by vote appoint Leonard Nightingale as auditor, and the Warders, �`
<br />ercise of his privilege, appoint John Kirkland auditor to act with the said f
<br />Nightingale as auditor for the said County of Essex:
<br />Be it therefore enacted by the Municipal Council of the Corporation of the City of
<br />Essex, in Council assembled, that the said Leonard Nightingale and John Kirkland, e,
<br />and they are hereby appointed, to all intents and purposes, auditors for the CQOW
<br />Essex for the current year;
<br />And be it further enacted that the said Leonard Nightingale atad John Kirklaed shall
<br />'each be entitled to receive as a salary the sous of fifty dollars per annum; John
<br />And be it further enacted that the salaries of the said Leonard Nightingale
<br />Kirkland be paid by warrant upon the County Treasurer of the said Count of Este= *'-
<br />annually, and the Warden is hereby authorized to sign the said warrants for the payer
<br />of the said salaries as the same become due;
<br />And be it further enacted that the said Auditors shall examine and report to the Cot?n-
<br />cil upon all accounts affecting the Corporation of the County of Essex half- yearly to wit.

<br />Peace as a Board of Audit. Passed January,29th, x88o,
<br />Whereas, by the Municipal Act of Ontario, the County Council of each county is re-
<br />quired to appoint annually two persons, one of whom maybe a member of the said CO"*
<br />cil,. to assist the Chairman in auditing the accounts of the Court of Ceneral Sessions 0f
<br />the Peace, or of Oyer and Terminer and General Gaol Delivery:
<br />Be it therefore enacted by the Municipal Council of the Corporation of the County of
<br />Essex, in Council assembled, that W. D. Balfour, one of the members of this Council,
<br />and Thomas McKee, be, and they are hereby appointed to the said Board of Audit, soul
<br />that the said parties shall be paid four dollars for each day's attendance at such audit,
<br />and the further sum of five cents per mile necessarily travelled by the members of such
<br />Board of Audit to and from the place of meeting of the said Board, and +the Warden is
<br />hereby authorized to sign warrants for the same.

<br />A 8 •Law to provide for the annual amount to be paid by the Town of Windsor upoa its withdrawal
<br />frog the jurisdiction of the County Council of Essex, and for other purposes therein meatiomi
<br />Passed January 31st, Mo.
<br />Whereas, the Corporation of the Town of Windsor, by the Council thereof, has pes►ed
<br />a ByLaw withdrawing the said Town of Windsor from the jurisdiction of the County
<br />Council, said Bylaw having before the final passing thereof been first submitted to the
<br />ratepayers of the said Town of Windsor in accordance with the requirements of the
<br />Municipal Act, and having received the assent of a majority of the duly qualified rate•
<br />payers voting on the same;
<br />And whereas, it is desirable and expedient in the interests of the County of Essex and
<br />of the Town of Windsor, that an amicable arrangement as to the proportion of the ex•
<br />pauses and of the indebtedness of the County of Essex to be borne by the Town of Wiud•
<br />@Dr should be arrived at:
<br />Be it therefore enacted by the Corporation of the County of Essex, in Council as.
<br />sembled, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, that for the term of five
<br />years from and after the 31st day of December, 1 , the Town of Windsor shall annual.
<br />!y pay to the County Treasurer for the use of the County of Essex, the sum of $500
<br />towards the existing debt of the County of Essex, and the sum of $95o towards the ex.

<br />county is liable, as required by and under the provisions of any act respecting registratiw
