That any question arising not provided for by the preceeding <br />rules shall be determined according to parliamentary usage, and the <br />rules of the Provincial Legislature. <br />49. That any of these rules may be temporarily suspended for <br />the despatch of business, and may be altered, amended or rescinded <br />at the will of the council. <br />And be it further enacted that all the rules of order heretofore <br />in force for the guidance of this council be and the same are hereby <br />repealed. <br />Passed June 17th, 1881. <br />(Signed), THOS. Warden. <br />BY -LAW No. 511. <br />For the Removaa of Trees Obstructing Highways. <br />BE it enacted by the Council of the Corporation of the County <br />of Essex, in Council assembled, under and by virtue of the Muni- <br />cipal Act of Ontario, and it is hereby enacted by authority of the <br />same. <br />I. That on either side of the highway in the County of Essex, <br />passing through a wood, the trees (unless they form part of farm, <br />orchard or shrubbery, or have been planted expressly for ornament or <br />shelter) shall, for a space not exceeding twenty -five feet on each side <br />of the highway, be cut down and removed by the proprietor thereof, <br />within the space of sixty days after they shall have been lawfully re- <br />quired to do so. <br />II. Be it enacted that in default of any such proprietor to re- <br />move or cause to be removed, the trees obstructing such highway as <br />aforesaid, the County Surveyor or other officer in whose division the <br />land lies, shall have full power and authority to cause and direct such <br />gees to be removed as aforesaid, and to be used by the overseer or <br />other officer of the municipality, for any purpose eonneected with the <br />improvement of the highways and bridges in his division, or to be <br />sold by him to repay the expenses of carrying out this by-law- <br />And be it further enacted, that the Reeves of such townships <br />through which such country roads do pass, be and are hereby ap- <br />pointed officers under this by -law, to carry the same into effect. <br />By -laws numbered 68 and 78 are hereby repealed. <br />Passed June 17th, 1881. <br />(Signed), THUS.
