Passed January 25th, 1888. µ'heress it is expedient to raise money's for the improvement of certain roads pd bridges in the County of Essex. De it therefore enacted by the Council of Essen, and it is hereby enacted *tthere shall be raised, levied and collected a -rate of j of a mill in the dollar, oatiq to the sum of $8,465.20, upon the whole ratable property of theComtty d dusex in the equalisation for the year 1888, in addition to all other rates and wants imposed for the improvement of certain roads and bridges in the ooaty of Fmex. Be it further enacted that the said sum of $8,465.24 shall be expended as set hA in the schedule hereunder written, which schedule shall forty part of Ik By -Law. And be it further enacted that the whole work to be done and performed as stmid shall be given out by contract by public onmpetition or in such d r saner as to the commissioner or c,%:umiwonera duly appointed to apmtend the same may be seen best t►n or before the first clay of August next, ma should any one of the said awasniu4mers fail to be present at the time rpisted for the letting of the work, then any one of the comm issicmers may Oveed to the letting of the same. And be it further enacted that contracts entered into for the performance of N work to be done under the provisions of this By -Law shall be signed by the #gmiseilmors letting the same on -behalf of the County G►rpuration, and that it an be paid by the County Treasurer ulx►n a oertiricate being procured fra the said amunissioner or oo1uamissiutsers letting the same, of the VW* loving been performed aecx►rding to contract.
