NOVEMBE SP ECI AL SESSION, 1969 6S7 By -Law Number 1849 RESTRICTING THE WEIGHT Olt' 'VEHICLX8 PASSE46 OVER A BRIDGE. WHEREAS subsection 8 of section 52 of The H"WnpW T=frw Act (R.. S. O. 1960, Chapter 172) provides that: — The municipal corporation or other authority having jtuieffietyon over a bridge may by by -law approved by the Department make regs. lati0ns limiting the weight of any vehicle or combinatlam off( vehicles or any class thereof passing over such bridge; AND WHEREAS it is deemed expedient to limit the weight of vehicles passing over a bridge in the Municipality of the Towmbip of 711bury North. NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of the County of Essex enacts as follows: — L No vehicle or combination of vehicles or any class tbmw, whether empty or loaded, shall be operated over the bridge known as Big Creek Bridge at Lot 18, Concession 2 and 3 an Road between Concession 2 and 3 in the Municipality of the 1bbwnship of Tilbury North with a weight in excess of 26,000 pounds. 2. Any person violating any of the provision of this by-law shall be subject to the penalties provided In subsection 7 of section 52 at The Highway Traffic Act. 3. This by -law shall not become effective until approved by the Department of Transport and until a notice of the limit of the weight permitted, legibly printed, has been posted up in a e=gAeaasr place at each end of the bridge.
