THE CORPORATION OF THE COUI',~TY <br /> CONSTRUCTION BY~LAi,/ h <br /> <br />A BY-LA~'/ TO AUTHORIZE THE CONSTRUCTION OF AI~ID IMPROVEi~NT <br /> TO CERTAIN ROADS IN THE COUNTY OF ESSEX <br /> <br /> WHEREAS it is deemed expedient to construct certain <br />improvements to the County Road System of 'the County of Essex <br />as set forth in Column 1 to Schedule "A" attached to this <br />By-law~ <br /> <br /> AND ~',fHEREgS the cost of the work shall be paid <br />partly through Provincial Subsidy as shown in Column 5 to <br />Schedule "A~ attached hereto, partly through a debenture issue <br />as shown in Column ~ to Schedule "A" attached hereto~ <br /> <br /> AND WHEREAS the proposed work has been approved by <br />the Minister of Highways° <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE <br />COUNTY OF ESSEX ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> 1. That the improvements to the roads and drains be <br />constructed as set forth in Column i ~to Schedule "A" hereto <br />attached and forming part of this By-law. <br /> <br /> 2. That the Engineer of the Corporation do forthwith <br />make such plans, profiles and specifications, and furnish such <br />information as may be necessary for the making of a contract or <br />contracts for the execution of the work. <br /> <br /> 3. That the work shall be carried on and executed <br />under the superintendauce of and according to the directions <br />and orders of such Engineer. <br /> <br /> 4. That the Warden and the Clerk are authorized to <br />cause a contract or contracts for the construction of the work <br />or operations of the work to be made and entered into with some <br />person or persons, firm or corporation, subject to the approval <br />of this Council to be declared by resolution. <br /> <br /> 5. That the Warden and the Treasurer, may, subject to <br />the approval of the Council, agree with any Bank or Person for <br />temporary advances of money to meet the cost of the work pend~ <br />ing the completion of it. <br /> <br /> 6. That the debentures to be issued for the loan to <br />be effected to pay for that portion of the cost of the work set <br />forth in Column ~ to Schedule "A" hereto attached when completed <br />shall bear interest at such rate as the Comucil may determine <br />and be made payable within five (5) years on the instalment plan. <br /> <br /> 7. That the cost of that portion of the work set forth <br />in Column 4 to Schedule "A" hereto attached, and the cost of the <br />maintenance and management of the work, including debenture <br />charges, shall be assessed on all the rateable property in the <br />municipality and the Debenture By~.law shall provide accordingly. <br /> <br />1963, A.
