The council of the Corporation of thq County of Essex hereby enacts as follows: 1. That every person who goes from place to place or to a particular place with goods, wares or merchandise for We within tM County of Essex, or who carries and exposes samples, patteraa at specimens of goods, wares or merchandise which is to be delivered a the municipality afterward, shall obtain a licence for so doing from the Licence Inspector, E. The fees for a licence under this by -law shall be: (a) $40 for a person with a motor vehicle; (b) $20 for a person with a horse-drawn vehicle or with a boat, ship or other vessel navigable by water; (c) $10 for a person with a pushcart or any other veh" on whe -als or runners drawn or propelled by hum" muscular power; (d) e8 for a person on foot with or without a basket, pack or valise. 3, A licence issued under this by -law shall be valid - only f" the date of its issue until December 31st of the year of its iasus: 4. Application for a licence under this by-law shall be made in writing to the Licence Inspector on the form of application approved by council and the fee for the licence shall be paid to the Cousty Treasurer, 5. No licence shall be required for hawking, peddling or selling goods, wares or merchandise: (a) to wholesale or retail dealers in similar ,goods, wares or merchandise, or (b) if the goods, wares or merchandise are growa produced or manufactured in Ontario and are hawked, peddled or sold by the grower, producer or manufacture; of his agent or employee having written authority se to do, in the municipality in which the grower, producer os manufacturer resides. or
