1081 <br />A BY -LAW OF THE COUNTY OF ESSEX to amend by -law No.841, providing for the <br />Maintenance and Management of the Home of the Aged of the County of Essex. <br />WHEREAS, it is expedient and necessary to provide for the Maintenance, Super- <br />intendence, Dare and Management of the Home of the Aged, and to define the <br />duties of the Officers and Inmates in connection therewith. <br />WHEREAS, it has been found necessary to appoint a Physician to the County Home <br />of the Aged to replace Doctor J. G. Turnbull. <br />Hoctor S ' of <br />i' <br />is hereby appointed to the o ice of Physician for the County Home of the Aged. <br />The said Dr,S p'j: , ..y..:' .' shall receive a yearly salary of ��:...:. <br />for his services as physician, i � <br />The duties of said Physician shall be as follows:- <br />1 st. To superintend and direct the sanitary conditions of the premises. <br />2 nd. To visit the Home of the Aged at least once a week and in case <br />of sickness whenever called upon by the Keeper or Inspector. <br />3 rd. To attend and prescribe, supply at his own expense and prepare <br />medicines for all cases and sickness and surgery that may occur and generally <br />tO have the charge of the health of all the inmates including the Keeper and <br />Matron and the servants of the Institution. <br />4 th. To examine and report to the Keeper or Inspector when called on, <br />all cases of inmates supposed by them or either of them to be feigning sickness <br />or otherwise as to their ability to work. <br />5 th.' To report at the Rune and January Sessions of the Council in. <br />each year the number and cause of deaths, cases of sickness, nature of sick- <br />ness, number of visits made, sanitary condition of the Institution, and such <br />other particulars as may in his ,judgment be important. <br />6 th. To enter in books provided for the purpose all cases treated by <br />him and the medicine prescribed in each case. <br />7 th. All deaths and the cause in each case to be properly certified <br />by his signature, within the Home of the Aged. <br />8 th. And such other duties as may from time to time be imposed upon <br />him by by -law. <br />All other BY -LAWS inconsistent with his by -law are hereby repealled. <br />Finally passed this day of arch 1 A.D. <br />Warden <br />
