THE CORPORATION OF THE COUNTY OF ESSEX <br /> <br />BY-LAW NUMBER 05-2000 <br /> <br />A BY-LAW AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF <br />AGREEMENTS BETWEEN THE CORPORATION OF THE <br />COUNTY OF ESSEX AND HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN IN <br />RIGHT OF ONTARIO, DUALLY REPRESENTED BY THE CHAIR <br />OF THE MANAGEMENT BOARD OF CABINET AND BY THE <br />MINISTER OF TRANSPORTATION FOR THE PROVINCE OF <br />ONTARIO. <br /> ? <br /> <br /> WHEREAS the Province of Ontario has transferred to the Corporation of <br />the County of Essex the responsibility for the operation and maintenance of <br />former provincial highways situate in the County of Essex; <br /> <br /> AND WHEREAS the Province of Ontario has agreed to transfer and <br />convey to the Corporation of the County of Essex, for nominal consideration, the <br />Comber MTO Patrol Yard, and the Harrow MTO Patrol Yard formerly utilized <br />by the MTO for the storage of vehicles, equipment and supplies utilized for the <br />maintenance of those highways, and related administrative activities; <br /> <br /> AND WHEREAS the Minister of the Government of Ontario responsible <br />for the disposal of surplus Government of Ontario lands and buildings has <br />offered to sell and the Corporation of the County of Essex has agreed to purchase <br />the lands and buildings comprising the Comber Patrol Yard and Harrow Patrol <br />Yard on the terms and conditions set out in the said agreements, attached hereto <br />and forming part of this by-law; <br /> <br /> NOW THERFORE BE IT ENACTED and it is hereby enacted by the <br />Council of the County of Essex as follows: <br /> <br />THAT the Agreements between the Corporation of the County of Essex and <br />Her Majesty the Queen in Right of Ontario, dually represented by the Chair of <br />the Management Board of Cabinet and the Minister of Transportation for the <br />Province of Ontario, respecting the transfer and conveyance of the Comber <br />MTO Patrol Yard and Harrow MTO Patrol Yard, attached hereto and forming <br />part of this by-law be and the same is hereby approved. <br /> <br />THAT the Warden and Clerk of the Corporation of the County of Essex be <br />and they are hereby authorized and empowered to execute the said <br />Agreements under the seal of the Corporation. <br /> <br />ENACTED AND PASSED THIS 16th day of February 2000. <br /> <br /> <br />
